Macy’s Closing

I was downtown with my daughter and my niece yesterday afternoon and we saw that the 1950s era, downtown  Macy’s is closing.  It was  one of the last few days in business. The five story department store had little inventory and several of the floors were empty. It was a creepy adventure, riding the escalators and exploring what was left of the Portland landmark. These ph0toraphs were taken on the fifth floor where they’d stripped down and lined up all the store’s mannequins and priced them for sale. Full mannequins were $50 $100 each. Body parts ranged from $15 to $50 a piece.
